The countries of South, Central and East Asia are now decidedly in the limelight. Their demographic weight, their growth rates, the immensity of their domestic markets, their scientific potential—all this places them among the great world powers.
The Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris) gives pride of place to social sciences research on this part of the world. The multidisciplinary vocation of the AMO (Asie Méridionale et Orientale – South and East Asia) emphasis now provides students with the possibility of pursuing, building and developing know-how on objects that are continually updated.
For a full presentation of the 2 years Master degree’s programme, click here. It is aimed at students holding a BA in social sciences oriented disciplines in Humanities from a recognised institution of higher education.
Note also that most of the courses are dispensed in French language. Hence all students must prove they meet French language requirements, in order to be considered for admission. However, since English language is another prerequisite for following the courses, the Master thesis during the second year can be prepared and written in English whereas student assignments throughout the year will be in French.
The detailed list of research seminars related to the Master’s programme can be found on this website.
Students can apply from Mid-May to 25 September 2018.
